When redeploying iPhones, administrators may want to preserve cellular service on devices without forcing users to reactivate their carrier plans. Apple's MDM framework provides this option through theRemote Wipecommand. Within this command, Apple includes a key calledPreserveDataPlan. When enabled, this key ensures the existing eSIM remains intact after the wipe process. Other erase workflows, like a standard "Erase All Content and Settings" performed by the user, may not preserve eSIM data.
